HEIDI K. ERICKSON'S HARVARD EXPERIENCE
I remember when I came to Harvard in 1990 Bush was in office, we were at war, televisions were set up all over campus to remind us, keep us aware, but needless to say it wasn't in our backyard this war was miles away there was a whole ocean between us. At that time I was living in a Cambridge mansion with a retired professor's wife who needed me there at night, I studied and took classed during the day until a year later I moved on campus to devote (full time day and night) 24 hours a day to my studies. Clinton came to office and we devoted much time to important issues at home, like our health care. But he also had Duval Patrict heading the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and in that position Patrict was responsible for oversight of the Public Access Division in the DOJ and enforcement of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Patrict turned a blind eye when it came to complaints about Harvard University.
I became a student member of the American Academy for the Advancement of Science and was honored with the responsibility to arrange a student caucus which had been left unaddressed for several years. In 1993, I invited then US Surgeon General to Boston, to speak for the American Academy for the Advancement of Science, she was amazing, spoke her mind and did something for all of us while she was heading the countries health care concerns.
Now, Bush is here, again we are at war. I don't have a job, I had a career, my reputation damaged by very influential persons, and government misconduct Beacon Hill misconduct! Living on Beacon Hill has taught me more about how, in this beautiful city of Boston, the Major, Governor and city officials are so corrupt - look at the fleecing of America (Thank you Brian Williams) the amazing Federal monies dumped into the Big Dig, who is getting rich, not me. Boston officials: Governor, Major, etc. are more interested and influenced by persons whose money buys them power. If they make a mistake its covered-up or blame is thrown around instead of action to correct or apologies, and rights meant for everyone are overshadowed by the rights of those who have deep pockets, influence and power to rob me and others of our constitutional protections. This is not justice, this should not be Boston, the 'cradle of Liberty' now the 'cradel of corruption' and the birth place of the 4th Amendment - ha the police here are so eager to learn how to circumscribe it and how to get around it. I had lived in Winthrop, MA the other land holding of the Boston Harbor, I belong back on Beacon Hill, but now my favorite President has just past away, I have a great view of the Boston Harbor, I look to this city on the hill and wonder just how deep is the corruption as several Federal judges deny me my rights to seek adjudication in their courts. I know they go to parties and hob-nob with local persons of great influence like Margaret Marshall who now is the chief Justice of the Mass. High Court, SJC short for the Supreme Judicial Court but it was her extremely influential clients who I tried to sue in Federal Court for discrimination of which Harvard doctors confirmed but MM just said let's get rid of her, ruin her reputation and make her look crazy. I tried to bring suit in the Federal Courts for the denial of reasonable accommodations, discrimination and retaliation committed without review by the Trial Courts for its discriminatory actions to deny a known disabled litigant access. Seems like some of those Federal Judges here in Massachusetts are just as corrupt as their state/local friends. Remember corruption is all too well known here. While some politicians grin far too much and far too often their false impression is passed on to the general public by the media. Boston is known for its politicians, police, and attorney general who allowed, condoned and turned a deaf ear to the FBI's partnership with the mob. Boston understands the ins and outs of corruption all too well.
If you let government do this to me, then your inviting them to do it to you when and if it pleases them.
The US Supreme Court ruled in May 2004 in a case known as Tennesse v. Lane that an individual has a right
to sue a state trial court for damages. That is exactly what the Massachusetts Federal Court is
denying me dismissing my meritorious case against the Mass. Trial Court which is run by their friend
Margaret Marshall.
